You have probably heard the phrase “If you die in your dream, you die in real life”. I have always been skeptical of this phrase. I’ve never thought that phrase was logical. How does a figment of your imagination cause your mortal self to die? I kept believing that a

It’s late in the afternoon, and you decide that you want to invite your friend over for dinner, to celebrate your new apartment. The apartment itself was pretty- a simple place, nonetheless, but elegant in a simple way. But the look of the place had nothing to do with what
I’m running as fast as I can down the road ahead of me. It’s a long gravel road, and as far as my eyes can see there is no end. I’m in heels. I’ve tripped and stumbled and nearly fallen countless times, but I can’t risk stopping long enough to
“And that’s because you’re a spoiled brat!” Says my mother… You know, it’s not great knowing that your parent’s last words toward you were pretty damn harsh. But whatever, you know? I got out of there, once and for all, so I wouldn’t have to deal with the crap-school, the

Bayou La Batre, Alabama, 1995. Friday, between pitch dark and first light, the Gulf Breeze, a shrimp trawler out of Corpus Christi, Texas, entered the Bayou Shell Banks. A dead fog full of moonbeams rested over the marsh. Swamp-stench curdled the air, a real nose burner. As she passed through

“I had that dream again…” I woke up in the middle of an empty street. The city around me, unrecognizable and dead. Skyscrapers stood rotting and falling apart. Cars parked near shattered walkways lay rusted. A sing building stood taller than all the rest. Its frame, untouched by time, stood
It started with the usual. Waking up in different places on smaller scales. Fall asleep on the couch, wake up in my bed. “Oh Randy, I was the same way at your age,” My mother used to say, with smiles and turn-aways that marked the end of discussion. Sometimes I

Overview Widely regarded as one of the most popular and widest spread Creepypastas ever written, The Russian Sleep experiment is notorious as much for the gruesome nature of its content as for its plausibility. To this day, a large portion of the articles written about the story are attempts to

3/23/01 Due to the overwhelming number of requests I have received to tell about my discoveries and bizarre experiences in a cave not far from my home, I have created this web page. I will outline the events that happened to me during the past few months. Beginning with my journey
Ever since I was young, I’ve been having this recurring nightmare. In it, I’m standing in a dark room, in the middle of a large circle with the symbol of an upside down star in it. A pentagram. The symbol of the devil. I look around confused, as I have

This is a simple series of journal entries for my own sanity to be held together. I’d just like written proof that this is actually happening to me, you know? Okay, to start, I’m twenty-five, I’ve been living with an amazing girl for the last couple of months in a
The hallway was dark, just like all the other hallways she had staggered down. Unreasoning fear filled her mind as she ran. Gasping and crying she leaned against the wall trying to remember which way she had come from. But, the truth was, her flight had been so frantic that
You stumble out of your nightmare. Your leg cramps. Your room is dark and void of any light, except the soft red glow of your clock. 3:30 in the morning. Thought you were going to get a good night’s sleep? Not now, you have to get ready for work at

When my Grandmother died I was on the cusp of 28. My memories of her were bittersweet, and lingered somewhere between fondue parties and a not-so-subtle disdain for my Mother. Despite this, I was heartbroken when I lost her. Maybe it was guilt in having not spent enough time by

A few months ago, I’d been browsing Tumblr for interesting things. That was the day I found Zasphas. Zasphas had a normal looking blog at first glance. Typical vintage pictures, images of celebrities, food, etc. I followed her for some movie GIFs. But then, just last week, she posted some
I have been suffering from insomnia for quite a while now. No, it’s not because of Reddit. When I do sleep, I have this reoccurring dream. I suppose “reoccurring dream” is putting it lightly. Let’s call it a “reoccurring shit-your-pants party”. During this “dream” it starts out like any normal

It was about midnight when I finally passed out. I had been working my ass off on writing an article about some metal patient saying his dreams are becoming real. Crazy bastard. Either way, I needed sleep. I did my regular nightly routine. I brushed my teeth, changed into an
Let me start by saying that Peter Terry was addicted to heroin. We were friends in college and continued to be after I graduated. Notice that I said “I”. He dropped out after two years of barely cutting it. After I moved out of the dorms and into a small apartment, I didn’t see Peter as much. We would talk online every now and then (AIM was king in pre-Facebook years). There was a period where he wasn’t online for about five weeks straight. I wasn’t worried. He was a pretty notorious flake and drug addict, so I assumed he just stopped caring. Then one night I saw him log on. Before I could initiate a conversation, he sent me a message.
Lavender Town as seen in Red and Green The Lavender Town Syndrome (also known as “Lavender Town Tone” or “Lavender Town Suicides”) was a peak in suicides and illness of children between the ages of 7-12 shortly after the release of Pokémon Red and Green in Japan, back in February 27th,

I really wish I had left that fucking light switch alone. Who would have thought the flick of a switch could mean the difference between life and death. Actually everyone’s thought that. That’s why I turned it on. Stupid little rituals that we take from childhood. The light will chase
It was night and two guys in classic car traveled down a lonely stretch of I-95 in Pennsylvania. The one in the passenger seat had a pensive look about him. The driver reached down to fiddle with the radio. They slowly pulled ahead of me. Squinting through the darkness and

Sunday I’m not sure why I’m writing this down on paper and not on my computer. I guess I’ve just noticed some odd things. It’s not that I don’t trust the computer… I just… need to organize my thoughts. I need to get down all the details somewhere objective, somewhere
During my childhood my family was like a drop of water in a vast river, never remaining in one location for long. We settled in Rhode Island when I was eight, and there we remained until I went to college in Colorado Springs. Most of my memories are rooted in Rhode Island, but there are fragments in the attic of my brain which belong to the various homes we had lived in when I was much younger.
