It was all over the papers, though no one really knew how the events unfolded. On the surface, it looked like the perfect Thanksgiving. The turkey was cooked to golden perfection. Steam still rose from the freshly baked dinner rolls and the house was filled with the scent of cinnamon and melted butter from the…
You’ll think I’m crazy. Or just some idiot trolling online. I don’t care. Something happened to me and whether or not you believe me is moot, because it happened to me. It happened. I don’t want to tell you my name. It doesn’t matter anyway, because you won’t believe me and I don’t want people…
I’m waiting at the bus stop, the rain is falling lightly and it’s just about getting dark. I missed the last bus and now I’m tired and hungry, longing to be in my warm bed with a hot drink. I’m so busy daydreaming that I didn’t notice the little old lady stood next to me….
As astronomers began to dig deeper into the cosmos, a puzzling question arose. In a universe as vast and ancient as our own, why can’t we find any signs of other intelligent life? We have already discovered a number of Earth-like planets, and it’s estimated that there are thousands if not millions of planets throughout…
The ladder hadn’t been there this morning; of this, I was certain. Nor had it been there before in all the time I’d known this house. And it’s not that I don’t know it well: it used to belong to my grandparents, and I spent many a summer here; I know the building inside and…

There it goes again. Something definitely moved this time. It was very brief, but out of the corner of your eye, you saw something. But wait. All the doors are locked, no pets, and your parents won’t get home until 10. So there’s no way something moved. It’s just your imagination getting the best of…
(9/3/06 10:29 pm) Reply Internet Explorer 3 When using Internet Explorer 3 for Windows (google around for a version that works on Windows XP), enter this in the address bar (do not copy-paste, you must input it with the keyboard): for-you://gratitude-and-remembrance Wait ~ 40 seconds. You will feel strange. Don’t fight the feeling, or you…
The monster came right before the end of summer. Nobody knew it was a monster, of course. No one ever does. The Nettletons used to live in the house it moved into. Dani knew Imogene, their daughter. The two were in the same fifth grade, rode the same bus. They were friends. Sort of. Dani…
Skype is a pretty useful tool to me. I’m an artist, so I tend to use my hands a lot and skype lets me talk without having to hold a phone. Guess I’m just too much of a multitasker for my own good. But, whether or not it was a good quality I sure valued…
I’m so tired of this. You are in and out, sometimes completely ignoring me, sometimes just staring at me for extended periods of time. You study me, like I’m the one who will give you answers; I’m the one who will save you. The thing is, I think I can. I want to pull you…
Dear Thomas, Know this – I love you brother. I’m not sure what you will find waiting for you on the kitchen counter besides this notebook. Hopefully nothing. But it wouldn’t hurt to check the floor to make sure a finger or two hasn’t rolled under the counter. You and I have just hung up…
His room was quaint, containing quarters to sleep, a kitchenette and facilities. Simple, yet exceedingly modern, his room mirrored his personality near-perfectly; simple, open and inviting. It was the home of Tokiro Mitsuko. He sat on the foot of his bed and leaned back, remembering the events of the past several days. Tokiro Mitsuko had…
The doorbell rings, and you get up from where you sat staring stonily into space. You already know who is at your door, and why he is there. You open it, nodding numbly to the man. You make a note in your head that the man looks… sneaky, but you assume that must be because…
When I think back on my life so far I find that one of the things I can’t stop thinking about, no matter how hard I try, is MagikTrick. Right off the bat I should say that I have no answers here. What I’m about to tell you is a true story and all I…
I awoke on the day of my reconstruction. Grogginess left my body like a rusted machine. The room seemed to stretch for miles in my drowsiness, an eternal void that I lay in the center of. I reached my arm as far left as I could, rolling onto my side and grasped my cane. It…
Cynthia smacked, howled and screamed against Todd Barrett’s motel room window that night. Times like these, he was glad he hadn’t fully committed to “tramping,” and bought himself a fifth-wheel. Sleeping in a camper on a night like this would have been impossible. Instead, he had a soft bed below him, a strong roof above,…
I’ve told this story many times, and without exception it has provoked the same reaction – disbelief. No matter how difficult it is for people to process, and no matter how many conventional explanations have been offered, this did happen and it’s an experience I will never forget. It started with a friend of mine,…
I have to stop doing this. I know I have work in the morning. I know I have one strike, but I just get distracted. The basement is dimly lit by a single lightbulb hanging from the center of the room. Well, that and my television screen. The beige walls contrast the white carpet, to…
There is no God. There is no Heaven. There is no Hell. There is only this fucking Dorito disguised as a GODDAMN Greasy lookin chicken nugget from McDonald’s Hell, where it was banished for all entirety. What the fuck is this? Who would do this? What has this world come to? Thanks Obama. Ever since…
The oldest continuously operated theme park in the United States: Lake Compounds. The place opened in 1846 but its history reaches back even further to the 1600s. Mattatuck Indian tribe leader Chief John Compound sold his territory to a group of white settlers. A few days later, John Compound had drowned in the lake after…
The pungent, acrid smell permeated the old home that was now mine; I knew that the smell would fade with time, and that I would become accustomed to it as time went on. It was a beautiful little two-story Victorian home in the heart of a small historic town in Virginia. With that being said,…
If you haven’t read the first part of this story, please click here to be brought up to speed on when I first started to notice something was off about my freshmen roommate. Time seems to slow down as I try to process what it means that I have been sleeping in the same room…
Before I start, I just wanted to explain that what you’re about to read will make you question the writer’s identity, my identity. Believe me when I say that I am too. You’ll question whether I’m telling a lie, or maybe you won’t even believe me, because this story is just so bizarre. I was…
