Y’all Asked For It (Harold Redux)
In 1963, two young men hire on as ranch hands in the Wyoming mountains. During the long months of isolation, an unusual bond starts to develop between them, one which they are only vaguely aware of–until one night when it rises to the surface in a passionate encounter. When the season ends, they part ways, only to realize the true depth of their feelings. Thus begins a decades-long affair that the two of them desperately try to hide from those around them–one which will prove simultaneously beautiful and devastating.
ADMIN NOTE: Apparently, this post used to be the home of some classic ghost story called ‘Harold’, but there was a lot of complaining in the comments (and a lot of comments referencing a certain gay cowboy movie) so it was changed to this. It’s a summary of Brokeback Mountain, guys. It’s not a real pasta anymore. We considered deleting it, but the comment section is so huge and full of lol that we decided to save it. Every time someone critiques this “pasta” in a serious fashion, it’s amazing. Carry on and enjoy the show.
Y'all Asked For It (Harold Redux),

This is really bad. I don’t mean to diss if it’s a classic but… what’s the point in all this? farmers abuse an inanimate object and one of them gets killed? The only line that could have possibly had any effect on people was “stretching out a bloody piece of flesh to dry in the sun.”
but it didn’t.
the ending was horrible. just did not fit the tone of the story. milking stools? really? they could not afford stools? that ending was a stool.
Ha! Ha! This sucked!
The one in teh book was better…the pictures were pretty damn creepy as well.
Those ink illustrations were the best parts of those books. They really unnerved me when I was a kid.
Im pretty sure if they saw a scarecrow walking around and climbing on the roof they would be alot more scared and would do more than just ‘decide to flee’
The story would have also been better if they found the scarecrow there, not made it..
MEME
It would’ve been better if it was a bit longer. otherwise, I guess i’m the only one who thought this wasnt so bad…
WTF IS THIS SHIT!?
Yeah, this is copyrighted material, I wouldn’t leave it up.
Yeah this is from scary stories to tell in the dark. I love this story, it’s so creepy. Especially what happens to Alfred in the end.
Taking a story out of a book and deleting a few sentances doesn’t make it your work. It’s still copypasta, unoriginal, and old. I’m sure everyone’s read this already. The difference between them and me? I’m telling my opinion on the matter, which just happens to be the opposite of everyone else’s. It was a good sotry out of a really good book, but I come to this site to read original peices of literature from the screwed up minds of the World that I haven’t read before. I would’ve accepted it if it came from another site (like that one about the drain lady) because it would’ve still been from an anonymous person somewhere out there in the world. Not someone I can google and write a biography about…I’m sorry…copypasta irks me…especially if it’s from a source that I’ve already read a dozen times.
this asta is bad and you should feel bad
*pasta (d’oh)
I thought it was a good idea, it could’ve been edited though.
The style it was written in didn’t quite do it for me.
It could either be written very simply, like it’s a kid’s tale, or with a lot more description like some of the other pastas.
hahaha, i thought it was gonna be a comedy story, put on for a lack of actual scary stories…it kinda was, in a way…just not the way i was expecting
>.>
*Holds my “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark” and my “More Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark” books.*
It’s not in either of these. But I do definitely remember seeing/reading/hearing this story somewhere…
I think this was a… I’ll be generous… half-decent adaption of the story.
Scary Stories to tell in the Dark much?
This story scared the shit out of me when I was little.
I remember it being a lot more creepy and a bit longer, but maybe that’s because I haven’t read it in years.
I think if someone were to use something from “Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark”, they could’ve at least picked a better one.
Something like High Beams would’ve been a much better choice
If you search Scary Stories to tell in the Dark along with Harold, you’ll find a more detailed, and longer version of this on youtube.
WHO WAS HEATH LEDGER?
… I think I missed something here. ._.
I still lol at the redux every time I see it pop up on /x/, though.
