Them

Estimated reading time — < 1 minute

Is it silence where you are now, except for the whirring of your computer, or whatever your reading this on?

Good enough.

Tune out that noise.

Listen. Very carefully. To the noise within your ears.

Before you may have dismissed it as hissing static in your head, or a barely discernable noise of something else. But I’m telling you now it’s not.

It’s your body warning you that they’re here.

Them.

With their empty, black, over-sized sockets- pale skin stretched tight over them.

Fleshy talons, elongated bones, to scrabble at the flesh they seldom taste. They have no origin.

Very old, very slow
And very, very hungry.

Cursed to skulk with withered mouths the size of pin pricks and an appetite as collosal as mountains.

And you can sense them, because they’re always there- they long to taste life they’ve never had- whether souls or flesh. They’re not picky.

But all they exist of are energy, and they barely exist in this realm, which is why most of the time we can’t see them.

But your body knows they’re there. You can hear their energy. In your ears now, in the silence.
Silence is good, because it means no disturbance to the energies.

When there’s no disturbance, that’s when they get through.
Silence is good.

For them.

  1. Very very boring.First that whole “don’t turn around” thing is really old.Second even though the plot was bad and your skill even worse the idea of people on another astral plane of existence all together still able to interact with us is good but i can not comprehend why do they lust for the very essence of humans. Fairly good, but still crappy.5/10

  2. You know, there’s no point in describing “them”. It makes “them” material and takes away the vagueness that grants “them” a frightening essence, thus taking lots of flavour away from the pasta. So, next time, Don’t. Decribe. Them.

  3. This happens to me all the time. The ringing. But I also hear people call out my name in the night. Matt. I look around. Nothing. Someone please help me…

  4. I turned around. Whoop de doo, there’s nothing there. Now I’ll just turn back to face my computer and HOLY SHI-

  5. Augh sorry too unoriginal. If you’re gonna write a story about the cliché black sockets and stretchy bones then make it longer and more interesting! I’m not an expert on creepy pastas but for me the shorter stories really work out well when you have an original scary monster.

  6. You’re new to this, aren’t you? I suggest doing a lot more reading of creepy stories so you don’t just blandly copy stuff that has already been done a million times.

This was the boxed mac-n-cheese of pasta, sorry to say. The generic store brand, not even KD.

  7. I was listening to music, a tv, an old computer, and a very loud air-condioner. There was nothing behind me by the way.

  8. adikted yes this happens to me multiple times a day, it is a very frequent feeling i have, spooky stuff lol. But yeah i have never actually met anyone before that experiences this, when i was little i used to think everyone could do this, that is until i was sitting outside with my cousin that was about the same age as me and i said “someone is coming” and then our grandma suddenly walked out of the house lol my cousin looked at me like i was that kid in the sixth sense who said, “i see dead people,” needless to say, i havent shared my little skill with anyone else i know since then.

  9. reading this at 5 in the morning is the worst freaking idea ever especially when the room your in is pitch freaking black and you have cats whom starts to run around at this preticular time exactly when you read dont turn around… :,(

  10. the next time i read another description of a monster with long nails, black socket eyes, long bones, and pale stretched skin, i will punch a frigging hole in this computer screen.
Also, dont turn around? are you flipping kidding me, or are you trying to cliche me to death?
IVE NEVER HAD A CREEPYPASTA ANGER ME LIKE THIS, I OUGHTA MAKE ONE ABOUT HOW I READ THIS ONE AND FREAKED OUT AND SAW A GHOST OR SOMETHING. BAD PASTA 0\10

  11. Lexy are you f***ing serious? it’s glad to know i’m not the only one! sometimes i was just sitting in the couch in my living room watching TV and i just felt someone come inside the room, i can’t really describe the feeling i just feel it. and when i look there’s nothing there. That hasn’t happened to me in at least 4 years or 3 years. but i remember that feeling so well…

  12. Wow this story isnt really the best story ive read on here but it REALLY freaks me out because it relates to me. My entire life i have been able to sense when someone is approaching. When someone is approaching i hear a ringing/buzzing sound in my ears. For example, i can just be chilling on the couch in the living room by myself and then i hear the ringing/buzzing sound in my ears and then i will get a knock on the front door or someone will enter the room i am in. I have had this ability my whole life and it consistently only happens when someone is approaching, so i guess i have the ability to sense presences. The really creepy thing is that for the past few months, when i am laying in bed trying to fall asleep i will suddenly hear the ringing/buzzing noise that i only hear when there is a presence and then i feel like i am being watched and like something is closing in on me and then i will open my eyes and there is nobody there and the feeling that something is near is gone.
You probably wont believe any of this but all i can say is that i am telling the 100% truth. so i find this story extremely terrifying considering how close to home it hits lol.

    1. Well, I can sense when someone walks in the room, just not with ringing. When someone walks in the room I sense it by getting a tingling in my spine or a ,Uhm It’s hard to explain, a rolling sensation? Or….like the chills, like someone running nails over my spine….But, sometimes when I look, no one’s there….other times it’s family or my dog….I swear 100% true! No joke.

  13. Really. Just, really. Is this your first time on this site? Have you not read the other countless “They’re here, don’t turn around” pastas? This basically has the reader put themselves in a half-assed state of perpetual silence just so that you could “scare” them with an awful monster description of something that wants you as it’s meal. I don’t this writer sees the flaw in their plan, were as any reader sitting alone in the dark might have been “spooked” but any other person would have nothing. This pasta have very little sustenance. 2/10
