YOU SEE, LUCIFER, IN HIS IGNORANCE AND SELF-INDULGENCE, WAS UNAWARE OF THE FACT THAT WHEN OUR FATHER BANISHED HIM TO THE PIT, HE PUT IN PLACE A FAILSAFE.
THIS FAILSAFE IS IN THE FORM OF OUR BIG BROTHER, MICHAEL, THE ARCHANGEL.
MICHAEL MAY NOT HAVE AS MUCH POWER AS LUCIFER, BUT OUR FATHER ARRANGED IT SO THAT IN THE EVENT OF HIS DEMISE AND LUCIFER’S RISE TO POWER, MICHAEL WOULD HAVE THE POWER TO DESTROY LUCIFER AND BECOME THE ONE TRUE GOD.
WE KNEW THIS AND WE USED IT TO OUR ADVANTAGE.

There is so much factual stuff wrong with this creepy pasta. First of all, not everyone believes in god. Shocking, but there are other religions in the world. Not to mention that those who don’t believe in the existence of a god, will automatically call bullshit on this.
Also, the rate of crime has been on a steady downward trend over the years. If you did your research, you would know that.
And do you really think that it makes sense for the angels to think that Lucifer would bring peace to the human population? Really?
One last thing; if god sees everything, then why would he be blind and deaf without the angels? If he could be the ‘all seeing eye’ before the angels, then he most certainly can continue being so after they stop.
I rate this a 2/10, for the caps lock, the elementary narrative and the poor research.
First of all, this is a piece of fiction. Maybe, just maybe, the author hoped that his readers (Christian or not) would use a little bit of imagination and be able to enjoy the story in the same way that I’d like to think that aetheists can enjoy the movie ‘Constantine’ (tastes in movies notwithstanding).
Second, I don’t really think it was necessary to the story for the ‘crime rate increasing’ throwaway line to be accurate.
Third, it never said anything about them thinking Lucifer would bring peace to the human population. Your fourth point I guess is valid.

I get that this is supposed to be broadcasted into our minds or something, but I almost didn’t read it became I thought it was going to be another joke, like ‘but who was phone?’ second, I am atheist, so apart from not understanding some of the bible references, I agree with blah, I felt like it was just another rapture day/2012 warning. If this had not referenced Christian mythology at all (and instead, say, the Cthulu mythos), would you still have gotten the ‘rapture day/2012 warning’ feeling?

@Everyone Else: Perhaps a rewrite is in order? I never meant this to be some kind of message on Doomsday 2012 or anything else. It was a crazy story idea that struck and begged to be written. I suppose I didn’t give it the write-up that it deserved. The reason for the ALL CAPS is to push the idea that the message being delivered into our brains was causing anguish and pain. I mean, reading things like this IS painful, is it not?

@J. Brown: I can understand the whole ‘message in our head’ and ‘pain’ thing or whatever you’re trying to explain, I think I get it. Yet still, seeing it was in all caps reminds me of “THE DAY OF ALL THE BLOOD” So next time when writing a pasta keep 3 key things: Knowledge (This associates with research, spelling, grammer, ect.), originality, and appeal (as in reading it yourself, and showing your friends, what are their/your opinions?)
Also, I’d probably scrap the idea of “THE WATCHERS” and do something else.
