The Code Of Mirrors

Estimated reading time — < 1 minute

The images we see in the mirror are the pure incarnates of evil. They are only allowed to exist in the area reflected in the glass. To them, life is like a never-ending hell, rotting away in the same room day after day. The only refuse from this purgatory is death, and the only way for them to die, sad to say, is if YOU die. Fortunately, they are bound by a code. You are their master, and they must mirror your every movement and expression. To do otherwise would break an unbreakable law, unraveling the space-time continuum. However, there is a loophole, and it can only be triggered by you, the master. To force them into error is to free them from their contract; after you let them out of your view, you’re on your own. Know this: when you watch them, they’re watching you back. They’re watching.

And they’re thinking.

  1. If the “evil counterparts” have to mimic our every move, wouldn’t that also include our brain structure and function? They can only be corrupt if we are.
    Reply if I’m wrong.

  2. Man at the Bridge

i am the one in the mirror, and also you forgot that the mirror also shows what lurks in the shadows, but i am shadows.

  3. I like the idea actually. I live with my other half, so when we are watching tv in bed together – so are our evil reflections. I am glad my evil counter part has a love and isnt lonely :)

  4. Oh, crap! I just remembered that my mom placed my mirror and my sister’s mirror on opposite walls directly across from each other, creating a tunnel effect! If I screw up, I’ll have a whole army to deal with!

  5. So does this mean hat my computer screen is reflecting my evil self? Because technically, it is a mirror. I can see myself clearly in the background of this story on my screen.

  6. The man who comments

Theirs another saying our reflection is just us.
Also wouldn’t that mean we are our reflections reflection?
so our reflection is our master and our master is our slave so our slave is our master as well?

  7. Well, I’m not afraid of MY reflection. One simple reason. I love me too much, I’d never hurt myself, too much self interest going on. Now, if mirror me’s personality were a 180 degree shift from mine…Yeah, I still wouldn’t be worried, know why? He’d be an uber pussy and, if he knows what’s good for him, he’ll keep mimicking the cool kids (IE: the other mirror mes’)

  8. Well, I’m sorry for your suffering, reflection. I’d set you free if, you know, I could be certain that you wouldn’t try to kill me

  9. What if they’re trying to trick US into in error thinking WE’RE the evil reflection fro saytuhn too? think about it

  10. the walls of my bedroom are decorated with about twenty decorative mirrors. fuck. fuck fuck fuck. fuuuuuuck.

  11. Reflection jumps out of reflective puddle at me…
    “THIS IS SPARTA!!!!!!!1!!”
    *Kicks reflection back into hole.*

  12. I don’t understand how mirror stories frighten people because the scientific facts just ruin the “illusion”. It’s like, an inch thick piece of reflective metal isn’t it? It doesn’t hold any supernatural powers and your reflection is exactly that, a reflection. I’m sorry, pasta, but you fail to deliver. What if I looked into a puddle? or the metal on the back of my ipod? What about the whole questioning of “the sky is blue because it was the water of the oceans being reflected”?
    I just don’t know.

  13. shortys roc my sox

    @ suiiki

the next time you open your closet door look for me i’ll be standing right behind you and don’t be that relived when you don’t see me because i can deffinately see you

  14. I’m afraid of mirrors. Cannot stand them. Unfortunately the bedroom in my apartment has a double-mirror for a closet door and we aren’t allowed to take it out O_O

  15. shortys roc my sox

there think about what killing us it doesn’t matter unless they really r thinking bout killing us and if they r no way am i tryin to trick them in to an error :(

  16. the last line blows…
    thinking?
    so fucking what?!
and the code?…hang the code…i’m leaving that shit in the mirror.

  17. you won’t beleive me but my dad went to an antique auction and bought an old mirror (he has an antique buisness) I put the mirror in the foyer and i was admiring the old frame it was very elegant and when i turned my head from it my perphral vision caught a movement that wasn’t normal it moved after i moved my head, we later found out that the mirror belonged to an old women in the 1800’s that died by a heart attack near the mirror. Now that’s some Creepy Pasta!

  18. The best way to trick your reflection is by quickly grabbing a strand of hair on your head and holding a measuring stick to it. If this is done fast enough, your reflection will not have sufficient time to grab the same one and will thus be released.

  19. The story of reflections always reminds me of the Fish in the mirror. When I get home, I’ll make a topic about it on the forums, as I need the book it’s in to make an accurate post.

  20. “after you let them out of your view, you’re on your own”
What, like every time I don’t look at a reflectable surface? When I have my back to a mirror?

  21. when it says forced into error…does that mean you have to trick them into dying or trick them into being unable to reflect something?
cuz i dont think its possible to trick them into not reflecting something you do. and when they do get out…wouldnt they hate us so much for making them reflect what we do that they would wanna hurt us?

    1. Like, grab a hair out of your head really quickly and confuse it, see what the measuure of the hair in the mirror is… now look at yours.

  22. The person formerly known as "Noneya"

I really dislike those big, closet-door mirrors.

Whats my reflection thinking? It says its thinking about something.

  23. this is a fragment of a full story, it is the first part. The second part is called “The Mirror” if you read the two of them in order, it makes much more sense.
