The Black & White Slide

Estimated reading time — < 1 minute

My grandma fell down last year and had to spend time in a nursing home. While she was gone, I was cleaning up old shit she had accumulated around the house so she could get around better, and mom and I could find any important papers.

I found an old (not really old, like 80’s or 90’s) black and white slide. It was of some guy laying in a coffin. Dead, of course. I thought it was creepy because he looked like me.

I asked my mom if she knew who it was. She said “It’s you.” (she was joking) Then she looked at it and her eyes got huge and she started crying and hugged me and said she was sorry she made that joke. I said “It doesn’t look like anyone BUT me, does it?” and she said “no, it really doesn’t.”

Gramma doesn’t remember anything about the slide. I still have it. I shit you not….it looks like me. Just like me.

  1. there are actually old civil war daguerrotypes of dead soldiers that look exactly like both Nicholas Cage and John Travolta…

    True story.

  2. i like how people are passing judgment on this one as if it were a genuine creepypasta when it’s pretty clear it was a forum post, thus the creepiness coming from the fact that it’s true

  3. It can’t have been his dad, his mother agreed that the only person it looked like was the main character. Surely she’d have SOME idea what his father looks like (or possible fathers, if there was more than one guy it could have been…)
I would just like to say this would be a) more creepy and b) more intelligent-sounding if the word ‘shit’ had been omitted.

  4. it’s weird how many people have a collection of random slides. i have one myself that i got when my school was clearing old books in the library. good pasta, maybe it could have been worded better, but it was written this way for a reason.

  5. Martin Van Buren

Yeah, yeah, yeah, everyone is talking about how stupid it is and how the narrative is flawed, blah blah.

    What if it’s fucking true?

    Then all bets are off!

    It’s certainly not implausible…

  6. I agree with blah!

The concept is pretty good but the way the story is told is pretty bad.

The wording of it is anti-creepy, and the creepy part of the story happens right away and then the story keeps going. You get the sense more will happen, but it doesn’t and it ends anti-climatically.

  7. The best part of this story was the comments. XD

But really, it could have been made much better. I liked the idea. Take out the ‘shit lying around the house’ part.

  8. but…WHO WAS SLIDE PRINTER?

i dunno, i literally have about 200 random slides in a box in my room, maybe one of them is me dead in a coffin!
