The Big-Head O

July 23rd, 2008 by WHO WAS PHONE?

A few years ago I suddenly remembered about a village I once visited. It was a friendly little village I discovered by chance while travelling alone. I stayed there overnight and received a most heart-warming welcome. For some reason I don’t know, I felt an urge to go there again.

I have good memory and was pretty confident that I remembered the way to get there. Once near the village I spotted a familiar sign post from my car; which, if my memory was right, should have read “___km to __(the village’s name).” But strangely enough all there was on the sign were the words “The Big-Head O”. I had a bad feeling when I saw it but I still decided to drive on.

When I arrived at the village I found it deserted and the buildings were covered in weeds. I was deeply puzzled and was about to get off the car when I saw, about 20 metres ahead of me, something that looked like a human with a very large head looming out of the bushes.

What? What is this? While I was trying to process what was going on I saw other similar creatures coming out all around me; moreover, they started to come after me moving in a grotesque manner, with their hands lying still against their legs and their large heads swinging side to side…

I was glad I hadn’t left the car.

I let the car run backwards at lightning speed and joined the main road. Afterwards I checked my map but the location of the village I visited a few years ago and the place I went on that day were unmistakeably one and the same. However I don’t think I will dare to go there ever again.

That picture is one of my least/most favourite creepypasta pictures. It’s so…disconcerting.

  5. Royal-Sovereign

Now I’m scared to click! Is the picture scary?

  6. WHO WAS PHONE?

I just need to document this ad that popped up on this entry:

    “Man With Big Head
View Photos of Local Singles, Free. Email, Flirt, & Find Romance Now!”

  7. Comment Leaver

I kind of want this to be a true story. Is that wrong of me? I say we all go visit.

First of all, our heads are a sensitive subject. It really hurts my feelings that someone would post this on the internet and assume that just because our village was overgrown with vines and shit that we couldn’t use the internet.

Secondly…um…I don’t know how to say this, so I’m just going to say it plainly: we were probably going to kill the guy that posted this. It wasn’t a personal thing.

  9. Royal-Sovereign

Oh…THAT picture? The big thing in the garage?

…they made an SCP for that?

  10. hurdly

dude wtf where did this shit come from

  11. Random Passerby

OMG!!!! It’s the living bobbleheads! Collect all seven!

  12. No one

This disturbed me a lot more than I would expect it to.

  13. Z

Yes, I agree– this was much more unnerving than I expected it to be. I think it’s more from the talent of the writing, the lost location, than the description of the people.

@Royal-Sovereign: The picture isn’t scary. It’s more unsettling than anything. Some people probably don’t find it creepy at all, though.

  14. Aspire

This one is very Silent Hill… I really like it. Thank you, PHONE!

  15. Eilamme

    That was kind of

    not scary, at all.

  16. BonerFruit

It’s really similar to Silent Hill.

  17. Russel Crowe

These guys just need a good punch right between their over-sized eyes.

  18. Anon

It did remind me of Silent Hill…
But after having dreams of Silent Hill zombies riverdancing, I will NEVER be afraid of it again.

  19. WHO WAS PHONE?

@18 - I am love with your subconscious.

  20. Dee

i dont get this story :(

  21. Hubert

This reminds me more of the ‘Running of the Jew’ scene from the Borat movie.

  22. Sigma

I seem to remember reading about some sort of custom of pressing a child’s head between two boards to mark it as special.

  23. NigraNightfire

That’s a shitty name for a story. Whoever wrote this took the name of a show and stuck the word head in there.

  24. LMLYUT

Ah, Saya In Underworld. It’s really too bad she isn’t updating the site anymore. The stories were amazing…

  25. Chris

So other people thought that this sounded like Silent Hill, too? Maybe that’s what the author was going for. It’s really well written, whatever their inspiration was. It’s a whole lot creepier than it should be.

  26. Anonymous

Reminds me of the legends of the “Melonheads”.

  27. Foolish

@ LMLYUT - She said she’ll start updating Sunday. Joy!

As for the story, it terrifies me. For some reason, my mind provides images with startling Natural-Geographic esque detail, so now I really can see in my imagination giant-headed people ready to kill me. Not cool.

  28. Anonymous

It would’ve been scarier had it just been one Big-Head.

  29. Reptilian Liar

I’m sure it would’ve been worse in real life…but at least someone actually got away.

  30. anony

This story and melonheads= BRIX SHAT.

  31. Winter

The longer I stared at the picture Phone posted the creepier it became. :c

  32. nightshade

That scared the shit out of me. Gave me nightmares.

    HOME!

  35. REKKUSU

I don’t get what is so scary about giant marching cereal prizes. And what was with that whole “I WENT TO THAT VILLAGE BEFORE AND IT WAS GREAT HAHAHA” crap?

P.S. And furthermore, this does’t explain WHO WAS PHONE.

  36. Justin

    WHO WAS CAR?

  37. Moskau

For some reason this really disturbed me.
