The Angel

Estimated reading time — < 1 minute

A few years ago, a mother and father decided they needed a break, so they wanted to head out for a night on the town. They called their most trusted babysitter. When the babysitter arrived, the two children were already fast asleep in bed. So the babysitter just got to sit around and make sure everything was okay with the children. Later that night, the babysitter got bored and went to watch TV, but she couldn’t watch it downstairs because they did not have cable downstairs (the parents didn’t want children watching too much garbage). So, she called them and asked them if she could watch cable in the parent’s room. Of course, the parents said it was ok, but the babysitter had one final request… she asked if she could cover up the angel statue outside the bedroom window with a blanket or cloth, at the very least close the blinds, because it made her nervous. The phone line was silent for a moment, and the father who was talking to the babysitter at the time said, “Take the children and get out of the house… we will call the police. We do not have an angel statue.”

The police found all three of the house occupants dead within three minutes of the call. No angel staue was ever found.

  1. doctor who fandoms, really creepypasta.
Plus! This story sounds awfully familiar. Did the main antagonist (originally a clown) get replaced with a weeping angel.

  2. Weeping angels :/ hmm very quick and very anti- climactic but its still a Whovian’s story so its pretty good :D

  3. This was even before Dr Who, a show called Night Gallery hosted by Twilight Zones Rod Sterling. A statue a husband and wife bought, of a man named “Bruce the black” and was said to of been dated “pre-druid era” they put in their backyard, and would eventually gain a life of its own, until the statue moved into the bedroom of their house one night, to change bodies with the husband, turning him into the statue and the pre druid wizard Bruce the Black to live again…

  6. seen this story so many times before with “life sized clown doll” “life sized teddy bear” “full sized painting” it really is a worn out story

  7. Omg there is this statue that is in this abandoned school or house or what ever and I saw it at first I thought it was just a statue but I remembered doctor who and I purposely blinked and it was gone.
And now there’s this same statue on my way to the store or somewhere and it is starting to freak me out some one help riversong, doctor, anyone help!

  8. Well, the babysitter blinked and the kids were asleep…everyone had there eyes closed, and the angel statue snapped their neaks and killed them….the dad should’ve told her to not blink.

  9. oh come on. This story has been copied so many times. Ive heard instead of an angel statue, it was a clown, other times a jesus statue.

  10. Oz The Wizard of FAP

Around the corner of my house there is a dark angel statue that turns its head to look at you till your out of sight…
Three days ago it was gone….. should I be alarmed??

  11. Heard something similar to this. It was a clown doll in the children’s room that was freaking the babysitter out. Sounds like they ripped off The Weeping Angels and an old urban legend. 0/10

  12. It was a babysitter. Clara Oswald is a nanny. Those Angels better not have killed *The Impossible Girl*!

  13. For all the hype that this is getting, I believe it’s not VERY deserved. It’s a short pasta, making me wish there was more. Also, there was no build up. Last, it wasn’t even that scary. If for some reason you do have an angel statue, get rid of that shit. No one like angel statues. Especially after they’ve seen Doctor Who. It’s just not that good.

  14. #very scared now!!!

That scared the shit out of me. Everytime i see a statue i want 2 scream!! So when ever i hear/see the word Weeping Angel i hide under my bed!! Whats more i have a small angel statue downstairs in my house!!!

  15. Don’t blink. Blink and you’re dead. They are fast, faster than you can imagine. Don’t turn your back, don’t look away, and don’t blink.

    Good luck, babysitter.

  16. The First Girl Doctor

What the hell?! *gasp* FRIGGING HELL CREATURES!!!! Weeping angels are coming to take the TARDIS!!!! GAAAAAAAAH! *starts running toward the Doctor* They’re back! Who? The weeping angels… O_O Get in the phone box NOW, you hear me?! *we run into the TARDIS and travel to Skaro to create a Dalek massacre*

  17. Ok everyone who’s read this is like “lol angel statue=doctor who :D have 10/10” when this story was copied from another story word for word except the angel statue part, that the author made up

Be creative don’t steal ideas >:(

  18. If it was outside the bedroom window, wouldn’t he rather the babysitter lock all the doors/windows and stay inside?

  19. Don’t blink. Don’t even blink. Blink and you’re dead. They are fast, faster than you could believe, don’t turn your back, don’t look away, and don’t blink. Good luck.

  20. Don’t blink, don’t even blink, blink and you’re dead. They are fast, faster than you can believe. Don’t look away, don’t turn your head, and don’t blink! Good luck!

    1. GODDAMMIT, there’s too many me’s in here. I need to get a profile pic somehow.

PS: I’m the one from Crappypasta.

  21. Isn’t this from the SCP website or the SCP website got it off of this cause they used this story for the stone statue thing

  22. So which came first this or the one where it’s a clown and not an angel? Someones ripping someone else off almost word for word.

    1. …you push the angel, and it strangles you. Either way, the weeping angels will win unless you’ve brought the TARDIS with you. Which you haven’t.

  23. I thought it was one of the stories I heard before- it was about the babysitter watching TV and someone calls her and asks “Aren’t you worried about the children?” Then when she goes upstairs the children are all missing. This is an amazing pasta, 10/10.

  24. i’ve seen this story so many times, you changed the clown to angel. and the statue wasn’t outside it was in there bedroom -.-

  25. Wow guys if you seriously don’t know what people are talking about when they say don’t blink, then you guys have a really bad life. You need to watch doctor who asap. I watched all 7 seasons and im on the 9th season of classic doctor who.

      1. They’re fast, faster than you could believe. Don’t turn your back, don’t look away and don’t blink. You’re on your own. Good luck.

        1. BEWARE THE WEEPING ANGEL, OH, AND DUCK, DUCK NOW, NO REALLY DUCK NOW, SALLY SPARROW DUCK NOW!!!!
          LOVE: THE DOCTOR 1962

  26. In the original story, it was a clown statue, the children and everyone gets out alive, and the dad doesn’t tell her until she’s out of the house the statue doesn’t exist.

“Everyone knows angle statues don’t do anything.” -Dryad

  27. Everyone should read the parody pasta “the demon within” it made me feel not so scared anymore.

  28. I understand that you are referencing weeping angels from Doctor Who, but all you really did was change a few details from the clown serial killer story.

  29. ME:Can i cover up that angel statue? It creeps me out.
    DAD:We don’t own a angel…
    ME:*dial tone*
I be up and out of there as soon as he said he didn’t own one.

  30. Desde pequena odiava uma igreja por ter esse tipo de estátua, parecia me observar…E também não gosto de quadros com a santa Maria mãe de Jesus, pois o quadro parece mover e chorar

    1. HAI BEN. I DON’T FEEL LIKE DROWNING RIGHT NOW. SORRY
MAYBE IN A FEW DAYS. YOU KNOW CAUSE I’M TO LAZY TO
DROWN RIGHT NOW. BYE BYE BEN. OH YEAH CAN I CALL YOU BENNY? THANK YOU BYE.

  31. My god…that was really creepy. It’s just so weird how the father paused and told her to get the kids out of the house, like he knew it was an issue.

  32. Calm Your Balls, Christians –_–

YOU SEE THAT? That’s proof that religion is bad! They got killed by an angel statue!
Just kidding, I’m not that obnoxious of on atheist. It was just a joke, calm your faces, aggressive Christians.

    1. Calm Your Balls, Christians –_–

I remember reading that CreepyPasta, too. Wasn’t the clown statue like on the stairs in the basement, though? And it was 2 teenagers at their aunt and uncle’s place, I think, right? With the arcade games and junk in the basement?

  33. Seemed waaay too much like the clown statue stories. Like a carbon copy. And weeping angels send you back in time; they don’t leave bodies

  34. I actually knew someone who called their babysitter like this, only it wasn’t over an angels statue but a painting, and she managed to get out in time too. Never found the painting though.

  35. Sounds like a scary story a friend told me when I was 10. When I herd it, it was a just like a bust of a head not an angel. Personally an angle statue is far less scary, cause you know………. its an angel

  36. If the babysitter’s UPSTAIRS…How can the angel statue be outside the window?? IT CAN FREAKING FLY!! At least it’s not like Candlejack. You can’t even see tha

  37. Wow!...good.....Pasta!!

wow that was a great pasta. a little creepy but its not a good story with out the creepy factor
    Thanks for writing it!

  38. I was feeling this until the end. Everyone knows that if you’re being followed by an angel and get caught, you’re never seen again!

  39. Weeping angels are waaay scary than this. I’ve heard this story before except instead of an angel statue it was a clown statue.

  40. Well then xD I am terrified, even though i have read this before, but it was like this:

Me, reading a few years ago, not knowing anything about doctor who: Meh, not scary

    Me now, a whovian : WEEPING ANGELS. OH DEAR GOD ;_;

  41. No offense, but I’ve heard this story a thoudsand times, except it was told like this:

A babysitter was watching over two children, and brother and a sister. The babysitter noticed the kids were scared of a clown statue sitting in the hallway. The babysitter called the parents and requested if she could possibly put a sheet over it. They replied, "We don’t have a clown statue. Get out of the house right away and call the police!"

Then the end is a mystery.
If I had been reading this for the first time, I would have loved it ^.^ Thank you for this pasta. I loved it :)

  42. Don’t blink. Blink and you’re dead. They are fast. Faster than you can imagine. Do not turn around. Do not look away. And. Do. Not.  Blink. Good luck.

  43. BUT THEN WHO WAS ANGEL?

I don’t know, it seemed incredibly short, rushed and the statue in question seems awfully similar to Dr. Who (The Weeping Angels).

  44. When I read this I was in complete darknessand silence …when I finished looked out side and saw something that I thought looked like an angle.. But then again Ive been able to see ghosts my,whole life

  45. I’m not sure if this story was supposed to be a Doctor Who fanfic, but the angel statue was very similar to the Weeping Angels… Don’t get me wrong, I like Doctor Who, but mixing it with the babysitter/clown story doesn’t really make a good pasta.

  46. I hate that you stole this from someone else. It’s an Urban Legend called “The Clown Statue” or something along those lines. Just because you changed the statue to an angel, doesn’t make it okay. This should be taken down and replaced with the original, because quite honestly the original is better.

P.s Why the hell do you need to make sure it’s okay to close the blinds? I very much doubt you would get in THAT much trouble for shutting the blinds. And why on earth would you take the kids OUTSIDE where the statue is?

  47. The original story was with Clown so this is a repost -_- but good story! Time to go cover myself in every blanket in my house

  48. Haha, oh wow…now, during December I’m going to be paranoid about looking out the window. I have an animatronic angel that sits outside our window along with a small Christmas town at her feet. I swear, if she turns to face the inside of the house, I’m bolting out this house. I’d love some more on this story, it seems interesting. Like, what would happen if the angel captured you or what it looked like. Good story!

  49. this an exact copy of the story with the clown. and im pretty sure angels don’t kill people.

    also BUT WHO WAS ANGEL!?

  50. I will kill every witness who knows about what has happened. Take this thread down before I come up to your houses and 1 outs beat the shit out of all of you, fuck your wifes, steal your money and take a shit on your parents while they sleep.

btw that baby sitter and 2 kids pissed me off so I had to.

    xoxo Angel Statue

  51. I live next to a graveyard. You can see it over the garden fence.
Best part? This graveyard is old fashioned and filled with stone angels.
And I have seen that Doctor Who episode.
    God help me.

  52. not a whole lot of build up. but i suppose babysitting stories like this are kind of a classic, we all know the ending so who needs build up?

  53. If she was a trusted babysitter, wouldn’t she know if there was a angel in the window? Why would she ask to close the blinds?

  54. This is exactally like the giant clown teddy in a kids bedroom, but that story is true. Good story though, Bravo =)

  55. This story is not new i’m afraid, as it’s been done many times before this, mostly referring to the statue as a clown.

  56. Don’t blink. Blink and you’re dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don’t turn your back. Don’t look away. And don’t blink. Good Luck.

The Weeping Angels are only statues while you’re looking at them. Don’t turn away. Don’t blink. It’ll be the last thing you do.

  57. “Don’t blink. Blink and you’re dead. They are fast, faster than you can imagine. Don’t turn your back, don’t look away, and *don’t blink*. Good luck.”

  58. So brief, yet gave me chills. Why I must be reading this in bed? Why my bedroom must have a window? *too scared to look*

@Midnightgirl Lucifer (the Devil) was an angel of heaven. For a while.

  59. me and my brothers were telling scary stories in a hotel once, and i heard a similar story, except it was about a clown statue. apparently this family lived in a large house and the parents asked the baby sitter not to wonder around too much. I’ve heard that it was a true story about a sadistic little person who lived off their food at night and went from room to room to avoid contact, but would watch the children sleep at night. that particular night the babysitter came into the room before the clown had a chance to hide, so he froze up like a statue….ooohh eee oohhh lol

  60. This is a spin off of the clown statue in the bedroom story. I agree with who ever said the parent’s reaction was weird, cause I’d be like “What statue?”.

  61. Poot despenser heer

Sounds more like a demon than an angel. Unless the angel took their souls to heaven, but the story doesn’t say that. Hmmm….

  62. the reason this is creepy because most everyone’s parents have secrets that they keep from their children. secrets that they are afraid that could hurt their children.

dun dun dun. shit just got real.

  63. I once saw a man dressed in full body armor kneeling on top the roof my neighbor’s house. I spet the summer at that house playing and the statue was new. It was early evening, I could see the shine on the armor, and the statue was facing the neighborhood church. That night the house burnt to ash along with the old woman who lived there. What struck was they said the house was so old it was all wood; floors, beams, and roof were all wood, no concrete or any stone to survive.

  64. JulietStarling

Heard a million stories like this, but they still creep me out. Especially the “angel factor”. Any creepy story with angels in it is much scarier after the Weeping Angels from Doctor Who.

  65. NO ONES HERE find the secret a lolololololollololoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooaooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  66. Weeping Angels

    @ Fail

We are sorry for the late reply, but it was not “some psycho” as you said. It was us…

  67. @ DJNOIR yea kinda but they know that they have no angel staue across from there kids i personaly would call the cops oh yea and i think the rooms were on the 2nd floor how would they put a statue there it’s FRIGG’IN CREEPY

  68. Yeah, Unless the parents actually had a clue about what was going on before hand, calling the cops over a statue seems like an overreaction..

  69. Wow… This is definitely one of the creepiest pastas I’ve read so far…

@zbeeblebrox I looked up stone angel statue after reading this, and there’s something a bit off about them… Especially the older, more weathered ones. They almost look evil in a way…

  70. it is supposed to be the angel of death because if you think about it she is UPSTAIRS and what else would they be afraid of that would get them out and would the killer have been out of sight by then unless he wanted to get caught but death torments before he GETS YA

  71. I liked this a lot i did not see it coming. But what i really liked was you don’t know whether it was supernatural or not. Cause 3 minutes is a short time for a regular person to break in and kill 3 people.

  72. Mhmm. Sounds like a Weeping Angel to me. The only redeeming quality of this (for me) was the resemblance to one of the most badass monsters in Doctor Who history.

  73. my cousin and i were taking a walk at about midnight and she told me about this story and it made me want to look out the window hen we got back to the house…. Scares me every time i think of it! it gives me goosebumps followed by a chill down my spine!

  74. Scared the shit out of me the first time I read a variation of it, but the more I think about it the less sense it makes.

  75. I’m pretty sure this one was written before the clown story. Clowns are kind of a cop-out anyway.

If you’ve ever seen a proper, old-school stone angel statue, you’d understand why that was the object of choice. Fucking creepy.

  76. I’m colorphobic (Think that’s scared of clownes) so this 1 wasn’t as scary 4 me. as 4 dr. who comparison, i’ll leave you with a line from what is hands down da scariest fucking episode ever.
    “Are you my mummy?”

  77. @person
Yea right when they said the babysitter i was like its a remake of the clown story which by the way is creepier then the angel one.
*shutters b/c of the movie IT*

  78. Well, that’s certainly disconcerting, but not all that-

Hey, when did that statue get here? I don’t remember ever getting one.

    Ah, whatever. It’s probably unim

  79. FFFFFUUUUUU
god damn, this reminds me of when I was 9 and me and my friends decided it’d be fun to tell stories in a closet in the dark and instead of a Angel statue it was a clown. still creeps the fuck outta me to this very day.

  80. Reminds me of the ‘Black Aggie’ urban legend.
This was fucking creepy. I’ll feel like an angel is looking at me when I’ll go to sleep.
That bed is BESIDE THE DAMN WINDOW! :(

  81. I don’t get it. Why do the parents got alarmed just because they do not have an angel statue while the babysitter claimed that she saw it

  82. You know, this pissed me off. I was told this is one of the scariest ones, so I read it, and I’ve already read the mangled version with a clown instead of an angel that comes in chain letter form. So, I was very, very disappointed.

  83. i read one like this but it was a clown or somthing. OMG if the angel flew away does that mean like it was a baaad angel? how can an angel be bad?

  84. justthesweetweather

I’ve heard this one a thousand times, but with a clown statue which is actually in the house.
    Way fucking scarier, IMO.
    D:

  85. Wtf. Can’t an archangel of death get creative to stave off depression? D:>

Actual person: I’m a nerd for knowing the name of the archangel of death. XD

  86. the second i read this i looked out the window to check for an angel statue…

then i remembered that episode of Doctor Who with those statues…and u can’t blink or look away or they’ll take you back in time…=S
and i just got a new email on msn and it made me JUMP!

this is worse cuz Gustav just passed, and it’s all dark and rainy, and…shhh, did u hear something?

    1. tick tock goes the clock

At least it’s when you’re looking. You can know for sure that you won’t be zapped back in time any time soon..

  87. This was the first creepypasta I ever read, except it was a clown instead of an angel.

@Dee – the angel statue was some psycho, hence why everyone was dead when the police got there and no one found a statue.

  88. This one was pretty good..I thought it was kind of ironic/disturbing that there was a statue of an angel and they all died..

  89. don’t blink. blink and you’re dead. don’t turn your back. don’t look away. and don’t blink. good luck…

  90. So there was a story like that except the baby sitter went to get some more blankets out of the attic and she saw a clown statue and when the parents got home the baby sitter told them about it and they said they didn’t have a clown statue so they called the police and a family of clowns were living in there attic.

      1. ikr, like the policemen go up the attic and like, the family of clown are staring at them while open-mouth smiling, then the dad clown honks his nose *HONK HONK*

  91. #1, that is the first thing I thought when I simply read the title. And then I finished reading the story and then I only thought about that stupid Clown Statue story :(

  92. What’s kind of freaky for me is that there is an angel statue outside of our house that we’ve had forever.

      1. I literaly teared up with laughther because the angels are all like (DAMNIT WHAT THE FUCKING HELL, HE PUT MIRROR HERE, LIKE HOW THE FUCK DO I EAT NOW…FFFFUUUUUUCK!!!)HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA too funny bro too funny.

      1. I know it’s very reminiscent of Doctor Who but if it was a weeping angel there would not have been any bodies left behind because they would have been sent back in time.

        1. Not nessisarily. Remember, they can just kill you. Snap your neck, or, like what happened in Angels In Manhattan, break your wrist. It depends on what they want from you. They feed off of the time energy from sending you back in time, and if they don’t need the food or are too weak, they can simply injure you or kill you.

        2. Not always, sometimes they themselves become angels ‘Angel Bob’ for example. others they just die.

      2. I don’t think it was stolen from Doctor Who, I think it was stolen from an urban legend. The story was basically the same but the statue was not an angel it was a midget dressed as a clown.

        1. I think that too! I’ve read this story before, but it wasn’t an angel outside the window, but a clown in the hallway. That was a scarier one, since I have clourofobia.. I love Doctor Who, but it’s not what the story is about.

        1. Well, they could be, but it doesn’t say how they kill the people. And we don’t even know if she looked away, or blinked. Enven if they were killed by the statue, the children would have died a while ago, before the babysitter even got there, so we just don’t know.

        2. The children could have been dead in their beds and the babysitter would have never known

  93. This one scares the crap out of me every time I read it. It’s just the parents reaction, it’s like they knew what it was… Scares the shit out of me.

  94. Daniel O'Briant

i have no idea why….but this story freaked me out a lot!!!!!!! can you tell some more detail on what the angel looked like?

    1. Don’t blink. Blink and you’re dead. They are fast, faster than you can imagine. Don’t turn your back, don’t look away, and don’t blink.

      Good luck, babysitter.

      1. i love doctor who, weeping angels are scary as heck, my stomach lurched when the dad said to get out of the house, because they didn’t have an angel statue, lol.

        1. Harry Styles wife

that freaked me out when the dad said get outof the house we do not have an angel satue.

        2. If you love it so much, you should know that the weaping angels dont kill normally. They abduct the victims and send them into another time period!

That’s why I call this the greatest bullshit. If you wanna make a Dr. Who tribute, then get your facts straight, for gods sake.

        3. Dude they don’t send them to another dimension they send them to another time period usually the past, and they do kill from time to time

        4. It isn’t a doctor Who tribute, It was a scary story. Take a chill pill, And watch some B.B.C.

        1. Yes, though it was mostly because they were lacking energy, and didn’t have enough strength to send anyone back. They sent people back in Angels take Manhattan too.

        1. Actually, they do kill, in one of the later episodes (after Blink) the Angels killed some people by snapping their necks, Learn your Doctor Who before you say Weeping Angels don’t kill!

      1. Greetings from a double agent. Intel I have gathered suggests that the squids have a very big jealousy issue because they have literally no use and want to feel like they matter. I have framed 3 squid deaths as suicide this week. Good luck, leader Sky. I will continue to fight from the inside.

    1. I agree but I always freak out when I see a angel statue it’s like I can’t stop looking at it or ill die…

    2. but that’s not how they work they don’t kill humans they send them back in time so they die that day (most of the time of old age)
