Please Come

Estimated reading time — < 1 minute

A 15-year old boy in a small town in Maryland sat down at his computer after getting home from school one day. He turned it on and logged into an instant messaging program, and was then surprised to receive a message from a classmate of his, who had been absent that day.

It consisted of two words; “please come”. Confused, the boy sent a reply, asking why he’d been absent that day. After two more messages and fifteen minutes with no response, he decided to get on his bike and head over to his classmate’s house. It was a short ride, only about five minutes away.

When he got to the house, he found the door was unlocked. Inside, partially dried blood was splattered over the walls and floors, and an unrecognizable figure was crumpled against the far wall. It was missing an arm and a leg, and bloody streaks on the floor lead away from the body and into the kitchen. The boy slammed the door closed, and immediately called 911 on his cell phone.

When the police arrived, they found three corpses, as well as tracks leading away from the house from the back door. The forensics report concluded that the entire family, the boy’s classmate and his parents, had been killed sometime the previous night.

  1. I wonder…

This story could be thought of in 3 ways,

1: The dead boy’s ghost/ soul/ whatever wanted his classmate to find his body for some reason. The reason is debatable.

2 The murderer is an wants someone to find the bodies/ come to be killed.

3 The boy found his parents dead and some -thing/-one in the house and sent a message as fast as he could.

you can decide what you think makes sense, and that’s what makes this pasta so good, in my opinion.

  2. It’s good but it needs more detail considering half the morons on here didn’t actually realise that this was about how the boy got a message from his classmates 15 minutes ago, even though he was killed the night before, in hope that the main character, the young boy, will report the incident to the authorities. I mean one guy said it was the murderer and that he should’ve been murdered, if it was the murderer then the kid would’ve been murdered!

  3. So…I’m probably one of the 6 or 7 people who totally still uses AIM. When I read this initially is sounded like the boy logged on and the message popped up, which on AIM is usually the result of someone sending you a message while you’re offline. I gotta admit, that perspective kind of killed the rest of this for me.

  4. Well, the way I understood it was that the killer IM’d the friend the night before in hopes that he could up his kill count. Only problem was the kid didn’t log on for an entire day and that saved his life.

No way. This story is so lame if you consider it like that. The point of the story is to be scary not to be all ‘awww the ghost wanted to be put to rest’. That’s ridiculous. Anyway, it doesn’t make sense. The neighbors would find the scene anyway soon enough. There’s no need for the ‘spirit’ of the boy to call the child over. It was obvious the killer seen a friend sign on and IMed him pretending to be the friend and lured him there. Of course, once someone get’s something in their head, it’s hard to tear it away from them so it seems silly to try and convince you now. I stand by it though. The lady and I agree it ruins the creepyness. And if the girlfriend thinks that, that says something.

    1. But then why call the child over? Just to have an audience for their masterpiece? They only found three corpses: the boy’s friend and his parents. Nothing was done to the boy who was IMed.

  6. everyone saying “they should have gone into more detail..” blah blah. its the vagueness that makes it creepy

  7. I don’t understand :( If everyone at the boy’s school saw him there how could he have been killed the night before? Doesn’t make sense. Unless they’re saying the police came the next day, in which case they should get better police because that took a long time… oooooooh nevermind I just got it, the boy wasn’t killed, ok now I feel dumb….. whatever, sometimes you just have to say it to yourself to get it :P

  8. This is one of the first creepypasta’s I’ve heard of; thanks to a cousin who also sent me “The Railroad” and “The Statue”.

  9. This one really freaked me out. Not because of any spectacular writing or gripping climax, but because I’m a 15 year old boy in a small town in Maryland, logging on the computer after school, and my friend just sent me a text message. Huge coincidence.

  10. i for one think the arm and leg went to the computer to send the im which explains
    – the missing arm and leg
    – the blood trail
    – why the im only said “please come” (no eyes cant read the replies)
    – why he didn’t call the police (no mouth)

  11. SUMMARY.

    CHILD LIVES IN MARY LAND.
HE HAS FRIEND, HE TOO LIVES IN MARY LAND.
CHILD’S FRIEND GETS MURDERED AT MIDNIGHT.
CHILD GETS MESSAGE FROM HIS DEAD FRIEND THAT TELLS THE CHILD TO COME TO HIS HOUSE.
CHILD SENDS HIM A MESSAGE DUE TO CONFUSION.
    CHILD BEGINS WORRYING.
CHILD GOES ON BIKE TO GO TO HIS FRIEND’S HOUSE.
    CHILD SEES A CRIME SCENE.
    CHILD CALLS THE POLICE.

    There, simple as day.
If any of you people think this is complicated, you are stupid.

  12. So little boy’s friend found it necessary to “please come” to his classmate rather than the police? This is assuming murderer is just a normal human, which seems to be the case here.

    Again, this story is

-build up suspense, build up and then… nothing- which is disappointing to read :[

  13. great yummy pasta! I know who the killer was! the politicians! they say healthcare costs a arm and a leg!!! lol

  14. I’m not sure whether or not I like this one. It’s certainly not bad. But it’s really not that exciting. I give it a solid B.

  15. I agree, I always read this creepypasta as if the kid were simply receiving an offline IM as many IM services do save your IM until the recipient logs on.

  16. I’ve received text messages as much as 24 hours after they were sent, so this doesn’t strike me as particularly supernatural. Now, /talking/ on the phone is something else – then you have a guarantee of synchronicity, which is important if the weirdness is in the timing.

  17. Actually, I think the horror here is that the boy got the IM from the murderer, and now the murderer knows who the boy is, and can follow him to his house.

  18. i think i read this once before but i can’t remember. I find it really sad beside the fact the creepy part is who messaged him to come.

  19. Reminds me of a story in which the ghost of a dead mom gets help for her child who’s in danger.
Stories like these always sadden me.

  20. Sir Shoop Woopington

howmany time are you fuckers going to joke abut “and then he came”? itt was funy oncew, stop trying
btw i like the pasta, please pass some more

  21. @DJLoONa

You have to realize not everyone thinks about reality as if they were in a horror story all the time. Most people don’t expect a weird scratching sound at their door to be a guy with a hook for a hand, etc.
Clearly they’re all fools and we’re better off.

  22. it is a bit sad, what happened to the family and such…but there’s one thing that gets in the way of this being really good…the dumbass kid actually went to the guys house!!!

i would never! he had no idea what to expect.

    1. And what if his friend was struggling with depression? I would go. I know too many people who would send that to someone because they’re considering committing suicide. You can’t just abandon your friends.

  23. @EnjoyTheRide

Um. No, perhaps not. The overall impression is that the ghost/spriit/whathaveyou of the classmate sent a message seeking someone to find his body.

How the hell would the killer know who the kid was, anyway?

  24. I believe that the point to the story is that the absent boy and his family was murdered then the killer IM the boy saying “come please” and when the boy got there the killer murdered him. Story should’ve went into more detailed like instead of the boy closing the door a figure closed it behind him.

    1. Disagree, creepy stories that don’t leave anything to the readers speculation are not scary, they’re like cheep knock off screamers in horror films.

Real Horror stories make you think and fill in the blanks.

    2. The point was that the classmates family was murdered the night before, so it was the classmates ghost sending the message so that they bodies can be found and an investigation started to find the killer.

  25. This one always makes me a little sad, if only because I imagine the ‘please come’ as less of a “Come and see how scary this is and then maybe you’ll die too!” than a “please come see what’s happened to me”.

    1. You don’t seem to get it. It wasn’t the kid that sent the message, because he died the night before the message was sent.
Whatever killed him and his parents sent the message.

  26. I remembered where I saw it, it was on the Encyclopedia Dramatica’s creepypasta collection list.

And yes, this one is a good one.

  27. Major deja-vu. I’ve read this one before, definitely. But I can’t remember if it was here, or somewhere else.

But it’d be impossible if it was here, now wouldn’t it?
