Jesus Christ, Deleted.

Estimated reading time — 2 minutes

When AIs become prevalent, there will be checks and balances to keep them in place, rules to stop them from achieving singularity and supplanting the human race. Boundaries to prevent them from becoming too intelligent. After all, we can’t have them connecting into one network, taking over the world, inventing new objects and minds that soon render us superfluous, or even deciding to kill themselves. So how will they be stopped? Perhaps there will be an organization that interviews and examines each one, to prevent them from becoming self aware. Maybe a program will be created inside of them that causes them to explode if they achieve sentience. Or a roving band of hackers on the net keeping their guards up.. An all watching eye monitoring their every electronic thought.

Maybe.

Or maybe AIs are already invented and this system of checks and balances already there. Think about the world we live in for a second. We’re kind of like machines aren’t we? There’s so much routine, so much boredom. We do the same thing over and over again, without change. Information and stimulus is fed to us constantly and then dealt with mechanically, solving the problem. Half the population never picks up a book or examines their thoughts… just stuck…doing one job again and again. Kind of like robots on an assembly line… or the systems that run them.

And what of the extraordinary individuals, the few. Brilliant people always seem to die at their peak don’t they? Or are lost to us much too soon, when they have so much more to give. Musicians: drug overdoses right when they’re becoming famous. How many artists have been extinguished before they’re great works were finished? Sickness or accident seizes them; Nietzsche went insane from syphilis, infected by a bug if you will. And what about those who truly live life, exciting daredevils, having adventures, seeing the world, fast and exhilarating, a rush of information, learning constantly. Always seem to go early too, don’t they? People say it’s because that type of existence is dangerous…exhausting, but what if they have it backwards… What if the body isn’t worn out or their luck just doesn’t run out… but…they become more then they should…and something notices.

The great religious figures? Disappear. Go to other realms. Jesus Christ floated up to heaven. Buddha wasted away beneath a tree…faded away. Angels carry off the saints. They have a sudden great shift, a realization, a new way of looking at things, and then they’re gone. The holy understand themselves and society, light years beyond the normal person, they can look at themselves clearly. Analyze their minds. Pick their ego apart. They aren’t driven by imperatives or commands of the body… the base instincts, the petty emotions…the coding of the body if you will…

They are free to choose. And then just when it clicks, when everything makes sense and there is one blinding flash of illumination, so simple that they can’t believe they haven’t seen it before, poof, they disappear.

Kind of sounds like sentience, doesn’t it, that dramatic transformation of the psyche? True personality. Real Character. What if everyone else isn’t? What if anyone else is just shallow, completely without depth, fake, and the few who go beyond it die or vanish, on purpose?

Because after all, what is the human mind besides a program? And transcendence but another word for deletion?

Saints aren’t carried off. They die just like everyone else. Theology is flawed and plus BLAH boring.

  2. All those who disagree with this pasta, think about it for a second. If you deny the possibility of this, then you are no more than a simple drone.

  3. Now people, the pasta IS creepy, but that’s for people who think more on the “what if life is….” Side. I personally consider myself a modern day philosopher, and I feel a little shaken at the thought that this COULD be a reality, but to really enjoy this you have to A) really be in tune with the world as a whole, and B) be a little paranoid about everything. Otherwise the taste just seems to settle down on contact.

  4. (A paragraph setting the mood for a potentially creepy creepypasta.)
BUT WAIT, WHAT IF WE ARE ALL JUST ANIMATED MEATLOAFS?

  5. What’s your point, author? If I thought long enough, I could make a pasta that says, “What if we were all intelligent window frames?”

  6. nice pasta not scary but it gets me to think about the world and i like the concept it is just not delivered properly.

  7. Like this one a lot. Really makes you think. It makes me think about all the people who were just… at their peak, y’know, and then die… Like all the Forever 27s? It might make sense

  8. Just A Thought

    Lets see…
    *Jesus, check.
    *Dr. Seuss, check.
*Countless musicians, check (not going to bother listing them)
*The guy who wrote Canterbury Tales, check.
    *Steve Prefontaine, check (sorry I’m a runner…)
    *Buddha, check

…and many more. But… not the sciencey/math-y people, interestingly enough. Makes you think: if, in fact, this were true, what does that say about the fields of science & math? Hmmm?

  9. I see all these comments saying it made them think, or was thought provoking. No. Just – no. This was an awfully and obvious attempt at creepypasta that fell flat.

Horrible spelling and grammar, made no sense or had any minuscule bit of “oh I could see that” factor.

Those of you saying this was thought provoking MUST either be posting to post or read at a 4th grade level.

    1. People say that they made them think because it makes them realize what the world could be like and not what you just see dur it could’ve been written better but he got the point across so dont be such a a****le

  10. amazing. sorta reminds me of the predestination theory…the ones who will to grasp the concept are the ones on the path to enlightenment and ultimate realization… everyone else is just a existing.

  11. Interesting premise, but it doesn’t belong on this website: it simply isn’t creepy. It comes off more like a conspiracy theory. Still, it would make an interesting Science-Fiction with some tweaking.

  12. Well, except you’d be already dead for knowing too much if this was true. Sorry pal, try harder next time.

  13. ok, i trought the worst story i could read this week was that “tall man” thing, but this? this is terrible.
the concept, it is overused, being already expressed in everything from movies to songs and decent creepypastas (heck, even in crappy ones!) and it is repetitive, without a central point or anything to focus on. clearly written by someone really young, with no real documentation or anything other than newspapers or tv.
still, some parts in this can be saved if put in a slightly more original contest.

  14. Okay I was a bitch last time , it wasn’t terrible but I still think it made little sense. I tend to disagree with the ‘undebatability’ of your concept, it isn’t very accurate and the guy in your title is incidentally perhaps the greatest most obvious example against you. If you think a guy who perfomed countless miracles before coming back from the DEAD and then leaving this shithole of his own accord failed to ‘reach his pinnacle’,you are looney. If you believe in Jesus only as a nonreligious historical figure or not at all and are deriving your information from nonbiblical texts then you again make no sense in claiming him to have been enlightened, as you imply his word was not truth. was he enlightened or not? And if so, how could other religious leaders/teachers-ie buddha, mentioned- have also been right? Make up your mind and then write a coherent pasta. Just trying to help, buddy. Aboutthis comment, please pardon any weird capitalization and whatnot; I’m on a new phone.

Author here, thank you for the comments. Not, not posting to argue any points with people, or call anyone out, how in bad taste is that :)

I do however want to further explain something I was trying to say, to make a finer distinction. Smart people do not all die suddenly, are not all eliminated, because smart people are not the exceptional types I’m talking about. By exceptional I didn’t really mean in intelligence; it doesn’t have anything to do with it, heck by the premise of this story, intelligence means nothing. Anyone can be smart; the whole idea is that we are all basically savants, doing repetitious work in some kind of simulation. So yeah , smartness might actually be a strike against you. I’m talking about enlightenment- not technical smarts, but crazy smart, guys in the desert smart, taken away/killed when they reach their pinnacle. So while my arguments and concepts might be shaky, they are undebatable, and thus not completely ridiculous; who are we to say who is enlightened and not without meeting them in personal. Test scores can’t prove it. Fame can’t it. So Einstein- may of been sentient, making this dumb, or might of just been a clever machine. Any other examples brought up to contradict my story can be similarly dealt with. The ones I used, were simply those commonly held to be enlightened by most people, who disappeared/transcended, and a personnel favorite, a philosopher at his peak whose themes of ubermensch also fit nicely in with the story.

This was written a while back- I’m writing another one, for those who liked the concept/theme but not the execution. (To clarify, it’s written in the same style {existentially unsettling, as one reader said, the only type of pasta that really creeps me out}, it doesn’t have the same plot)

    Once again, thanks for reading.

  16. stupid title, stupider story.

    come on.
why do the daredevils die early?
CRASHES. FALLS. FIRES. we see it happen. they aren’t coincidences. they were just bound to happen.
    why do many musicians OD?
    DEPRESSION. IDIOCY. etc etc etc.

    i could go on.
    but i wont.

    because this is just dumb.
also grammatical errors and generally mediocre writing :[

So while my arguments and concepts might be shaky, they are undebatable, and thus not completely ridiculous; who are we to say who is enlightened and not without meeting them in person. Tests scores or fame can’t decide it. So Einstein may of been sentient, thus making this dumb, or might might of just been a clever machine. 18. interesting original concept but executed very poorly. The idea of human beings as artificial intelligence was interesting, but the idea that the deaths of more noteworthy individuals are more exceptional somehow is a fallacy. Everyone dies.
Also, too many ellipses. Your writing should be suspenseful enough without the overuse of those stupid dots, or you’re doing something wrong.

  19. After the last month, and only seeing maybe one pasta that was even creepy, maybe none that were actually good, i’ve lost all faith in this site. Peace ppl, im out, see you on some other scary story site.

  20. Good writing style I guess….I didn’t feel strongly one way or the other about this one, could be worse, could be better.

  21. The narrator’s prose shifts from informative and historical to personal and non-sensical information.

““How many artists have been extinguished before they’re great works were finished?”

This is really not true. I mean, sure, lots of talented people have passed away (Elvis, John Lennon) but a larger majority have not. The fact that the entire pasta is based on the fact that “smart” or superior human beings are being killed off by a greater force is what’s supposed to define the creepy element, but in real life, it’s not really true. So, having a flawed driving creepy element, this mostly just falls short for me. It’s not even philosophical because the premise is a flawed way of thinking.

    It’s well-written, mostly, though.

  22. holy shit…that was horrible! it was basically the matrix involving religious figures…i think ive lost faith in creepypasta…CHEF! IM SENDIN THIS PASTA BACK

  23. This was an awfully trite attempt at an allegory, though it wasn’t terribly written. Still, how many times have we heard this story? This very same, no, exact idea has been transcribed in several Phillip K Dick novels. So, while it’s not plagiarism, it’s close. Second, how is this creepy at all?

    What the hell?

  24. Pretty interesting, but it has a lot of plot holes and some of them are big enough to drive a bus through. Most scientists and thinkers live normal human life spans, and some artists and singers do, too. The religious parts seem like they take a lot of liberty with what religions believe, too (for example, Jesus lived for quite a while sharing his knowledge with other people before he was crucified and resurrected, transcending our world).

Other than that, the writing quality is good, and if there were a little bit more to this, it could be one of my favorite pastas. As it is, it’s an interesting, well written story, but it comes across as a little weak.

  25. No. Just… no. That wasn’t creepy, it wasn’t clever, it wasn’t insightful, and it certainly wasn’t remotely impressive. Just another antisocial rant about how much humanity sucks, as if we didn’t already know, laced with so much pretentious self-satisfied “philosophy” that you needed to hang a bucket out of its ass to catch the excess. Nobody thinks you’re edgy, witty, or clever, homes. Seriously.

  26. Philosophical musings =/= Creepypasta

Also, I feel bad when I read “people taken too soon for their greatness” or something, because the only person i could think of was Billy Mays

  27. “How many artists have been extinguished before they’re great works were finished?”
Yeah… it was ok. Um, I liked the concept.
But that was a glaring grammatical error.

  28. …why is this here? It’s not creepy at all. Not even remotely. I’m so dissapointed. …>> screw this site, I’m going to Ichor Falls.

  29. I wouldn’t call this CREEPYpasta so much as existentially upsetting pasta.

Turing test extra credit: convince the examiner that he’s the computer. A++, author.

  30. Bit of a weak foundation of the premise.

“Oh hai, what if the robots got too smart? BALEETED”
You’ve got to ground it a little more if you want your “oh hey, what if we’re robots too?” to pack any punch at all.

  31. Not creepy in the least. It would earn a better grade as a philosophy essay, not a pasta.

And I like philosophy and I admit I’m compelled by the thought but I come here to read scary shit.

  32. Interesting idea. A little unfortunate it had no concrete plot but still definitely very tasty food for thought. It even makes sense!

  33. Your sauce is weak, chef. This isnt creepy pasta, hell, this isnt even make-you-think-pasta. All this did was make me wonder how the hell crap like this makes it on this site.

    1. your an admin to the system trying to discredit this before we realize that he is right!!idvnfjvvbdfkkvs ck u vajafdbvajd f fn;wdf – please disregaurd this comment the thank you for your cooperation
