WTF there’s no story even here?!
Oh nevermind, found out the red text was a hyperlink :\
Yeah, somehow when this went from scheduled draft to published post, the embed code vanished. It’s back now.
A video? Well this is new.
I’d like to post more, they are just rarely submitted.
Wat
I was listening to this on my phone with headphones and my aunt touched my shoulder and I freaked
Sound isn’t working at the moment on this pc, tried anyway with captions on…
Bad idea. Or maybe good, because the results were hilariously weird.
I’m gonna have to try again when I have sound…
The narrator sounded like he was about to cry
Ughhhh, for some reason Firefox has not been letting me view embedded videos. Thanks so much for the direct link, derpbutt! (And good look on your upcoming surgery; I had three surgeries in one a couple years ago, to remove gallbladder, appendix, and hemorrhoids, and I was TERRIFIED since I’d never had surgery before, but I was fine and I’m sure you’ll be, too ♥ You’ll be in my thoughts, anyway, for what it’s worth!)
As for the story/video itself…
The music lent itself very well to establish a creepy vibe, but that’s Kevin MacLeod for you. (The man is unfairly good at EVERYTHING and if it wouldn’t be such a loss, I’d say we ought to burn him as a witch.
) The narrator, however, spoke too softly for me to make out about 10% of what he was saying—and from what I caught, it was a pretty simple concept without much “bite” to it. (But then, maybe I’ve just grown immune to… I don’t know what to call it. Fun-sized, cheesecake horror?)
I think it would have benefited from some subtitles or /something/. So, I’ll say 4/10, for nice creepy music and the fact that it’s a /video/, which is awesome! I wish you’d get more video submissions, they can be done REALLY well (I am thinking in particular of the one a while back about the treasure hunt; can’t remember the name of it, but that one was FANTASTIC).
Bored.
What’s a gange? O.o
The ganges river?
It’s a river in India.
It has a slow start and the narrator has a ridiculously quiet voice. I honestly quit listening after the first thirty seconds.
Meh. It wasn’t particularly bad or particularly good. And it’s a concept I’ve seen done a lot too, so it would have to be reaaaallly good to stand out. But, having it as a video was a neat thing. Hopefully we will see more of those.
For me, the problem with the narrator wasn’t volume, but that he seemed to have problems enunciating at points. Was still able to decipher it fairly easily though. (And if you want to laugh on just about any YouTube video, turn on automatic captions, ’cause dude it comes up some of the wackiest stuff I have ever seen)
So im looking through the comments and noticed that 2 idiots don’t like the fact that I don’t know what a gange is. I feel bad now
all my wat goes into this video….
I felt that his soft voice added to the eeriness of the story and the premise was really cool. I don’t think I could’ve stood to listen to the story if the narrator had a loud, powerful voice.
Really boring start with a decent body and conclusion. The Narrator’s voice isn’t particularly haunting or anything like that, but not terrible by any stretch.
6/10.
I believe this proves a theory of mine that if a story is read well enough it can pass as higher quality than what it really is. Some eerie background music, a cryptic narrator, and sporadic sound effects really add an atmosphere that you can’t get from simply reading from a paper.
The story itself isn’t particularly interesting, no real conflict or even much creepiness (she was in the doorway, she drowned herself, and was in a photo with demon horns… how chilling). Protagonist had no depth and the setting wasn’t utilized to its potential.
But all you need is a slow and deliberate reading to make up for missing story content and BOOM… an instant classic! I’m not trying to bash the story, I’m just saying narration is key; and in that respect I do encourage more of these video-pastas.
Well, it wasn`t particularly good, but it was something new. I kept expecting a Jeff the Killer face to pop up or something, so I opened up a Google tab and stared at it while the video played.
Derp troll… No pop up… No screamers… No trollers… No poop spattering across ur face as you eat cake… I got bored so i made that poem… =3
Its a f*cking slide show!
