FAQ
Q: Do you write these stories? Can I have permission to publish/anthologize them?
A: No, and no. I have yet to write any story featured on this website; if I ever do, it will be noted (don’t hold your breath, though - I’ve never been one for creative writing). These stories are mostly products of 4chan’s anonymous imageboards; as such, I have no idea who originally wrote most of them and it’s not my place to give anyone permission to publish them. The only exception to this rule is credited submissions (easily discerned by the “credited to” footnote at the end of the post) - if you’re interested in contacting the author of a credited pasta, I CAN forward your email and questions to the author. I cannot, however, guarantee that they will reply.
Q: OMG WHY ARE YOU DELETING MY COMMENTS? CENSORSHIP! CONSPIRACY! INTERNET HITLER!
A: I use WordPress to run this blog, and I have comments set so that EVERY SINGLE comment is sent to the moderation queue before it shows up permanently on the website. The reason for this is simple; this site gets a huge amount of attempted comment spam, and I’m not down with that. So, I go through by hand and read each & every comment and manually approve them all. However, WordPress is kind of weird in that it will initially show your posted comment (I’m assuming as an attempt to confirm to the comment leaver that their post did make it through, but that’s purely conjecture on my part), and a few moments later the comment will “disappear” from public view and go into the comment moderation queue. So if you’ve just posted a comment and it seems to have vanished/not shown up at all, calm down - I probably haven’t even SEEN it yet, much less deleted it. I approve all comments that aren’t spam, even the critical, mean, offensive, whiny and idiotic ones; this can be verified and seen all over the site’s comment sections. If you really think that I’m singling you out… sorry, but you’re probably not special enough for me to change my mind about this practice and suddenly start some all-out war of internet oppression, sorry to burst your bubble, kids.
Q: Do you want/need help with running this website or approving comments?
A: This question usually gets asked if life gets in the way and something prevents me from updating for a day or approving comments as quickly as I usually do; and the answer is no, for now. I have recruited one lovely moderator for the forums, and to be honest I have a few others in mind should I ever need more help.
Q: There’s foul language/violence/offensive topics/people taking the Lord’s name in vain on this website! I DEMAND you change this to make your site more child-friendly!
A: It’s hard to believe, but people seriously have left comments and sent me emails telling me that this website is too offensive and that we need to tone it down make it more “acceptable”. In a word: no. This website is NOT aimed at a pre-teen audience; I mean, come on. Use your common sense: this website was inspired by a 4chan (one of the most NSFW sites around) meme, and it’s dedicated to creepy stories that can often veer into the gruesome and/or mention adult themes and language. It’s just plain stupid to think that a website like this would cater to children or people who are easily offended, and it’s even more retarded to expect me to change things for an audience that probably shouldn’t even be viewing this site in the first place. That brings me to my next point…
Q: I don’t like this category/style of story! You shouldn’t post them! CHANGE EVERYTHING JUST FOR MEEEEEEEE!
A: My innate reaction to people who whine about this kind of thing is to ask if they would kindly fuck off. Almost every pasta that I’ve posted has lovers and haters; if I tried to change the site to please every single bitchy comment, we’d have no stories left and no site at all. So sorry, you’ll just have to suck it up and learn how to scroll past the categories you don’t like (that’s, uh, why they’re categorized in the first place). At times, this kind of bitching & moaning in the comments can get to be a bit much; I ask that everyone just remember that I don’t have to do this - finding a new story to post every day does actually take my time and effort. It hasn’t been as much of a problem lately, but at the beginning I was getting a serious influx of really self-entitled comments that just made me want to stop updating in order to piss off the complainers even more. At the end of the day, I’m the one who pays $100+ a month to host my sites and I’m the one who bought this domain; I feel that this earns me the right to post whatever pastas I like and categorize them however I see fit (though I do ask for input on the forums/from the more regular visitors from time to time).
A few more random tidbits about myself and the site, as well as contact/submission info (and even how to help support the site, if you’re interested) can be found in the About section.
