Scary Paranormal Stories & Short Horror Microfiction

Creepypasta

I’ve had a few people on twitter and email who’ve expressed frustration over having ideas for creepypasta, but not the talent/time/drive to actually write them. A couple people have asked if we had a space for them to leave their ideas so that, perhaps, someone who wants to write but needs help with the idea part might be able to use them.

So here we go: this comments section is where you guys can post your creepypasta “prompts” – ideas for creepy stories that you might have, but for whatever reason, aren’t going to use yourself.

Just a couple ground rules:

  • This should be obvious, but just in case – make sure that you don’t mind someone else using your idea before you post them!
  • If you are an author and you use one of the prompts posted here, consider giving the original creator of the idea a shout-out in your credit section if you end up submitting the end result. It’s not mandatory, but it is polite.
  • Your prompt can be an image, video, or piece of audio as well as text – for images, use html img tags in the comment field. Nothing unsafe for work, please. For videos and audio, please just post a clean link to the content, no html – otherwise it might get eaten by the spam filter.
  • If you have many ideas, please consolidate them into one post. If you have a Disqus account, you should be able to edit your comments, so please do take advantage of this function when you have new prompts rather than submitting a new comment for every idea. If you ignore this guideline and insist upon flooding the comment queue with individual prompts, expect moderators to stop approving your comments eventually.

That’s all I can think of for now, but if I’ve overlooked something, feel free to tell me!

Beyond that… get to prompting~

It’s been three weeks, four days, 16 hours and 9 minutes since I arrived in the Town of Arundal. I only passed through for some gas, but was persuaded to stay. I say persuaded, I now know as soon as my Ford Buick’s left tyre had a blow out on freeway 62 they would never let me leave.

    Not now I know……

Someone should do individual encounters from the movie “Vanishing on 7th Street”. I loved the concept of the movie, despite it being only a B movie. I think the connection to Roanoke was interesting, and I would like to see that further explained. but since a sequel is highly unlikely, a written continuation would be awesome. Anything that furthers along the story would be highly appreciated by me, but since I don’t have the time, I can’t do it myself.

    To: Knightly Reaper.
It’s a dark night, you’re walking along when you hear a noise. You turn around and stare into beaming red eyes, filled with hatred and curiosity. It mumbles, “I have been watching you.” You scramble to reach the lightswitch. Your hand grazes the cold wall and you flip on the lights. The thing.. It had dark red eyes with a long tail. It had on silk clothing.. it looked crimson.. like armour but soaked in blood. It had a face hidden by a mask. It gripped a metal staff. It was light blue and had grey rusty spikes at the end that looked like it was on a rotating wheel, like the combination of a sword and a chainsaw. It was terrifying.. and you had had nightmares with this creature in them at least once or twice before. You called it-

Okay guys, I have an idea that I heard from one of my friends a while ago. It was something like a soldier accidentally kills 2 children in like WWll or something. He was so traumatized by the event that he kept having flashbacks. Eventually , he went crazy and started to kill people. I’m not into the idea enough to write about it, but maybe someone else is. :-/

There is a Criminal Minds episode where the unsub had to kill a child soldier in self defense and the guilt and PTSD made him think he was still at war when he heard loud noises. When people approached him he thought he was being attacked so he killed them. It was a great one. It is called “Distress”, season 2, episode 17.

How about a story where some creature has been living in your house unknown to you and he ends up being your friend before disappearing? Or a story where the main character is the first human to contract the zombie virus and writes of the development of the sickness in him? Or a story about necrophilia would be refreshing

    • Anyal-Lyn

The whole “writes of the development of the sickness in him” reminds me the ending of a Stephen King story, The End of the Whole Mess from his Nightmares and Dreamscapes collection. It wasn’t about zombies but the character’s journal at the end of the story shows how the man’s train of thought goes from scientific to basically brainless. Great story.

How about a story where the main character is at the home of their significant other, alone, and they begin to mess around. Shortly thereafter, there’s heavy breathing on the other end. The caller reveals himself as the father of the girl, and she proceeds to inform the protagonist that her father died. It ends with only questions. Brilliant.

How about a story having to do with something you never actually see, you only hear it, smell it or taste it. Something dark and evil, the smell of blood and sweat. The smell of agony. The taste of something sour, yet bitter. Something you don’t enjoy. And what if it followed you, and tormented you. What if it snuck up behind you, scared you. And it wasn’t just you who knew it was there, your friends and family, they knew too. But they would never say anything because they didn’t want to sound insane.

Have an evil entity that makes the author feel warm when it’s near. The. You could end with “like cold, safety is just an illusion. Nothing more than a lack of danger. But you can never reach absolute zero.

My boyfriend likes to duck hunt and is constantly reading the hunting forums. He came a cross one where the hunters discussed the creepiest things they have encountered while out on the water or banks of the lakes. One hunter mentioned that while he was looking for a good place to hunt, he came upon an old barn. He went in to just take a look around and found hundreds if not thousands of creepy old porcelain dolls just lining the walls. Sounds like a good story to me x_x

We need an old fashioned, gruesomely detailed, blood and guts, torture story. Like, a necromancer that tortures his victims, then after they die, he brings them back to life for more torture. That way, there is no escape, not even death. Get creative with the torturing, like taking their organs out and making the victim eat his/her own insides. Keep him alive and suffocate him until his lungs literally burst. I need some dark minds for this
