First things first, what you’ve all been waiting for – submissions are open again!

This submission period will run from today, August 16th 2016, until September 15th, 2016.

This post means that all submissions from the prior open period have been processed. Those of you queued for Crappypasta have been sent emails letting you know of this status. For everyone else, if you did not receive any reply, consider your story rejected. If you are confused, please familiarize yourself with the FAQ – the entire submission process is covered in detail there. Please refrain from leaving whiny/confrontational comments if your story was not accepted; it only serves to make you look bad. Likewise, please resist the urge to send me nasty messages via Contact Us or the submission form if you are upset about your story’s status. Once again, this does you no favors.

Second: The ghost story writing challenge contest is now live and will be accepting entries until September 1st, 2016. Please visit ths post for the rules, how to enter, etc. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE POST BEFORE SUBMITTING AN ENTRY AND FOLLOW THE CORRECT STEPS, AS STORIES SENT IN TO THE MAIN SUBMISSION FORM WILL NOT BE LOOKED AT FOR THE CONTEST. Likewise, please do not send in completely irrelevant submissions via the contest form.

Third: You may note that the Ratings Index is currently down. That particular plugin is… having issues, to put it lightly. I’m fairly certain that the Ratings Index pages were the culprit behind the site’s downtime issues over the past week, as such, I’ve disabled those pages until I have time to look further into the situation. Ideally, I will find either a way to fix the issue or find a new plugin to display that information (one that doesn’t cause such catastrophic fallout would be nice), but neither of these results are guaranteed. Given that I haven’t yet had the chance to really look at it, there is no ETA on when/if this can be solved, obviously. For now, I assume everyone will agree that having the site online is preferable to keeping up a small function that isn’t even working half the time.

That’s all for now. Thanks for your time!
