Always The Same Word

Estimated reading time — < 1 minute

If you watch every State of the Union Address since it’s been filmed and available on tape, you’ll see that halfway through–exactly halfway through–the President always says the same word. Most say it under their breath during the standing ovations, but some are forced to work it into the speech itself.

  1. why is this even on creepypasta its not creepy at all and its just a paragraph . Why is this not crappy pasta in fact it shouldnt even be in crappypasta it sucks that much .

  2. its because since 1958 the government has been planning a hostile takeover of america and its civilians, theyre going to kill 85% of humanity on earth. read IRON MOUNTAIN. its all real. they bought disposable coffin liners(large black plastic tubs) that will fit a family. god bless and gods speed americans. the new world order theory? yea. Ordo Templi Orientis is like theyre catch phrase, e plurbis umnum. means new world order. all lead by the united nations. the world is going to be different soon, better, but harder, it will take a while.

  3. I have no idea what this is supposed to mean, and whats the word they say? Was there another part that the writer deleted and why? I probably would have understood this more if so.

  4. I’ve checked up on this by watching several president’s state of the union address, and attempting to spot the exact half-way point and seeing what is said. And nothing overlaps. I’m going to go a bit more extensive later and see if there are any significant words said around half-way – not so much because I expect a result, but more because I want to satisfy everyone’s curiosity.

  5. I sat there and listened to Nixon’s, JFK’s, LBJ’s and Ronald Reagan’s State of the Union Addresses, and never heard a single “peony’ so I gave up. I guess I’m just deaf… or my A.D.D. kicked in and I missed them.

  6. I have to say, I do beleive I\’ve rooted this one out a bit. At exactly the middle of Obama\’s state of the union adress, you see the camera pan to his wife as the audience cheers, and when it pans back his mouth is open and he quickly closes it.

Check it out for yourself, it\’s pretty cool.

  7. @PHONE: Just leave everything intact. It’s not your duty to modify stories but to archive them in whole. You’re doing the original authors/contributors a disservice by editing their works.

  8. This fails at trying to be ominous. What does it matter if the president feels the need to utter a word, which more likely than not is ‘The’, I think that it would be better if they actually told us what the word was; it would be much creepier.

    Fear The Darkness

  9. I like how vague this is, it’s creepy. I wish I knew what the word was though (and I’m really curious about the second paragraph now xD)

  10. what the fuc kare you all talking about, its barely one paragraph, let aloen a last paragraph, email me at seizuresequalwin if you can explai nthis all to me

  11. I like the entry the way it is.
    It’s interesting…
Not shaking in your bed scary or anything but is pretty cool.

I never read the first one.

People shouldl be greatful that you even keep this site running with fresh material

  12. …and this is why I usually don’t give in and do edits/changes. You have the people bitching because they didn’t get to read the original, the people who bitched when it was intact, and the people who aren’t happy either way and hate everything I post.

I love self-entitled readers and how they all seem to expect that I should tailor the entire website just for them. Yeah, maybe if you paid the hosting bills.

  13. ScoolyardHero, it wasn’t worth reading tbh. It was jut some b/s that someone tried to add to it to make the story scarier. They failed.

  14. Eh. I like it better now but it dosen’t really leave much to be creepy. Interesting sure but there’s no consequence to the word.

  15. Edited the second paragraph out. I agree, it sounds like it was kind of mashed on there, like the first paragraph had been written by one person and the Peony BS was added on later.

  16. I’d take the sound that pronouncing the word would create, seal it into a glass jar, and crush it under several tons of concrete.

  17. @ PHONE

    Yes, fer sure.
The first paragraph is mysterious, unsettling.
The second paragraph basically makes no sense.

  18. I agree wholeheartedly, the part about the flowers is nonsense, most ridiculous nonsense at that. I’ve listened to a few speeches since I read this…from the current administration, as well as others by JFK and Nixon. I still don’t know what it is…but it made me shiver, nonetheless. It felt like a welcome to an invading presence from beyond.

  19. I always kinda liked this one for the mystique around it…I’ve seen the “peony” bit before, though, and it frankly ruins the feeling.

But without that last paragraph, it’s a solid, staple pasta.

  20. @xD

Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.) (Order of the Temple of the East, or the Order of Oriental Templars) is an international fraternal and religious organization founded at the beginning of the 20th century. Originally it was intended to be modelled after and associated with Freemasonry,[1] but under the leadership of Aleister Crowley was reorganized based on the Law of Thelema as its central religious principle.

    Use google…

This is a really common (and mediocree) pasta, but I have never read the last paragraph before.

Doesn’t make it much better actually =(
